What This Job Actually Costs, and Why
Craft & Honest AnswersPro / Crew
When to use it: Quarterly — your most common job, priced in public with the reasoning shown.
The structure
- Line 1: "[Job] costs [real range] around [town] in [year]. Here is what moves the number:"
- List: the 3–4 real cost drivers (access, size, condition, materials tier) with the direction each pushes the price.
- Line: what a suspiciously cheap quote usually leaves out — named, without naming competitors.
- Line: where your quotes land in the range and why.
- Close: "Send us [the two facts] and we will place your job in the range before anyone visits."
Guidance — read before you write
Price transparency posts get saved and sent to spouses — they are how couples decide. Ranges must match what you actually quote; the first customer who catches a post-vs-quote gap will screenshot both. Update the year and the range annually.
A worked example
"A full-house deep clean in Erie runs $180–$340 in 2026. What moves it: square footage, bathroom count, whether it is a first visit (first visits run longer — that is honesty, not a fee), and pet hair, which is a real line item and we are not sorry. A quote far under that range usually excludes the oven, the fridge, or the baseboards — ask which. We land mid-range because two cleaners stay the whole time. Send us beds/baths and we will place your house in the range today."
