The Walk-Through Post
Before / After (consent first)Pro / Crew
When to use it: At the end of any multi-step job (paint, remodel, deep clean, install).
The structure
- A short series: 3–4 photos in job order (start, middle decision, finish).
- Caption: walk the reader through it in 3 short numbered lines, one per photo.
- Line: what you checked at the final walk-through that the customer could not see (the hidden quality step).
- Close: "Final walk-through done with [customer first name, with permission] — punch list: zero items." or the honest count.
Guidance — read before you write
The "hidden quality step" line is the trust-builder: name the check nobody photographs (torque, level, moisture, seams). If the punch list was not zero, say what it was and when it was fixed — an honest punch-list post outperforms a perfect one.
Imagery rule for this framework: real photos of the real job, with the customer's consent asked and noted in the caption. If an image is AI-generated or AI-altered beyond basic crop/brightness, label it as AI-generated in the caption — Pennsylvania's Act 99 posture across this portfolio is default-to-label.
A worked example
"Walk-through of this week's Fairview paint job: 1) Day one — wash, scrape, and the rot spot we found under the bay window (fixed before primer, not painted over). 2) The call: two coats satin, trim in semi-gloss for the washability. 3) Final walk with Mark — we checked every corner against the light at 5 p.m., when bad paint shows. Punch list: one drip, fixed on the spot."
