Before / After (consent first)

The Two-Photo Job Post

Before / After (consent first)Free starter set

When to use it: The same day a job finishes, while the customer is still pleased.

The structure

  1. Before photo + after photo of the SAME spot, same angle.
  2. Caption line 1: "[Neighborhood], [day]: [the problem in the customer's words]."
  3. Caption line 2: what was actually done, in one sentence, with the real time it took.
  4. Caption line 3: the permission line — "Posted with the Hendersons' okay." (Use the name only if they agreed to the name too.)

Guidance — read before you write

Consent is the framework, not a footnote: ask before you photograph, ask again before you post, and say both in the caption. Real phone photos outperform polished ones on local feeds — do not filter the after into a different room. If any image is AI-generated or AI-retouched beyond basic crop/brightness, label it as such in the caption (Act 99 posture: default to labeling). Never post a "before/after" from stock or from a job you did not do.

Imagery rule for this framework: real photos of the real job, with the customer's consent asked and noted in the caption. If an image is AI-generated or AI-altered beyond basic crop/brightness, label it as AI-generated in the caption — Pennsylvania's Act 99 posture across this portfolio is default-to-label.

A worked example

"Fairview, Tuesday: 'the bathroom fan sounded like a helicopter.' Swapped the fan motor and cleaned the duct run — 90 minutes, no drywall cut. Posted with the owner's okay. Yours sounding louder than it used to? That is the bearing going; it does not heal itself."
