Before the Storm Rolls In
Seasonal & WeatherPro / Crew
When to use it: 24–48 hours before a named storm reaches your service area.
The structure
- Line 1: "[Storm / weather event] reaches [town] [day]. Here is the 15-minute version of getting ready:"
- List: 3–4 prep steps specific to your trade and this storm type.
- Line: the one thing NOT to do (the dangerous DIY move you see after every storm).
- Close: "We will be out [day after] for [service]. If you need us, [real booking channel] — phones will be busy, messages get answered in order."
Guidance — read before you write
Write it before the storm, while you are calm. Fear sells, but panic copy reads as profiteering — keep the tone neighborly and the steps genuinely free. Update the post after the storm with what you actually saw.
A worked example
"The lake-effect band sets up over Millcreek Friday night — 8 to 12 inches by Saturday. Fifteen minutes tonight: move cars to one side so plows (ours and the township's) can pass, mark your driveway edges if you have them, and keep vents clear. Please do not climb a ladder to clear a roof in the wind — we see that injury every year. We start routes at 4 a.m. Saturday; message us here and we answer in order."
