The Review Ask That Doesn't Beg

Reviews & ThanksFree starter set

When to use it: Once a month as a post; the real ask happens in person at the happy moment — this post backs it up.

The structure

  1. Line 1: "A favor, asked straight:"
  2. Line: why reviews matter for a business your size, in one honest sentence (neighbors read them before they call anyone).
  3. Line: exactly where and how — the real review link/platform, one step.
  4. Line: "If we earned two stars, tell US first — [contact]. We would rather fix it than read about it."
  5. Close: thanks, no incentive, no discount-for-review (that violates platform rules and reads desperate).

Guidance — read before you write

Never offer anything in exchange for a review — Google and Yelp both prohibit it and customers can smell it. The "tell us first" line is not a trick: route unhappy customers to a real fix, and mean it. Post this at most monthly.

A worked example

"A favor, asked straight: if we have cleaned, fixed, or cleared something for you this season, a Google review is how the next neighbor decides whether to call us or a call center. It takes a minute — link is on our page. If we ever earned two stars instead, tell us first at the number on this page. We would genuinely rather fix it. Thank you. — The crew"
