Customer Words, Quoted Exactly
Reviews & ThanksFree starter set
When to use it: When a customer texts or says something better than your marketing ever will — and says yes when you ask to share it.
The structure
- Line 1: the quote, in quotation marks, word for word (ask permission first; confirm the exact wording with them).
- Line: who said it, as specifically as they allow ("— Maria, Harborcreek, gutters") or anonymously if they prefer.
- Line: the job it came from, one factual sentence.
- Close: "We keep a book of these. This is the standard taped inside the truck." or your own honest equivalent.
Guidance — read before you write
Exactness is the framework: no tidying their grammar, no merging two customers into one quote, no quote from a review you cannot link to. A stitched or invented testimonial is a false claim (and, in PA, exactly what Act 99-era advertising law is aimed at for synthetic content). If permission is a no, the quote never runs.
A worked example
"'He explained what he was NOT going to charge me for before he told me the price.' — Denise, Millcreek (with her okay). That was a furnace check that turned out to be a $14 filter problem. We keep a book of these by the register. It is the standard taped inside the truck."
